We provide measurements rather than relying on size labels alone, because different fabrics and cuts fit differently. Use the tables below alongside our fabric notes to make a confident choice.
Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape parallel to the floor. Don't pull it tight — a finger's width of ease is appropriate.
Measure around your natural waist — typically the narrowest point of your torso, about an inch above your navel. Keep the tape snug but not tight.
Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, typically 7–9 inches below your natural waist. Keep the tape parallel to the floor.
Stand without shoes. Our length notes are based on a 5'5" reference height. If you're taller or shorter, note the adjustments in our length guide below.

Ponte has minimal stretch — about 10–15% in either direction. It holds its shape well but doesn't have significant give. If you're between sizes, size up for comfort. Ponte dresses (Meridian Sheath, Harlow Blazer Dress) fit true to size for most body types.
Scuba fabric has moderate stretch and good recovery. The Keller A-Line in scuba fits slightly more generously than our ponte styles. If you're between sizes, you can typically size down in scuba without losing comfort.
The Ashford Wrap uses a fluid stretch crepe that drapes rather than structures. Wrap styles are inherently adjustable at the waist. We recommend sizing to your hip measurement for the best fit in wrap styles.
Jersey (Lennox Midi, Finch Turtleneck) has the most stretch of any fabric in our collection. It's forgiving across a range of measurements. Most customers find that jersey styles fit well when sized to their bust measurement.
The Sutton Shift uses a stretch twill that has more structure than jersey but more give than ponte. It fits similarly to ponte — true to size with minimal ease. If you prefer a more relaxed fit, size up.
The Archer Shirt Dress uses a cotton-blend twill with minimal stretch. Shirt-style dresses are cut with more ease than bodycon styles. Size to your bust for button-front closures, and note that the belt can adjust the waist independently.
Dress lengths are measured from the highest point of the shoulder to the hem, based on a 5'5" reference height. Use the notes below to estimate how each style will fall on your height.
Approximately 38–40" total length. Falls at or just below the knee on a 5'5" frame. At 5'2", expect mid-knee coverage. At 5'8", expect just above the knee.
Approximately 44–46" total length. Falls at mid-calf on a 5'5" frame. At 5'2", expect closer to ankle length. At 5'8", expect below-the-knee coverage.
Approximately 40–42" total length. Falls slightly below the knee on a 5'5" frame. Works across most heights without significant adjustment.
